The ProVanax™ formula works so well and is popular because of the specific ingredients used in the correct combinations, dosages and extracts; resulting in maximum results & benefits. Click the ingredients below and a detailed description will appear under it.
Lemon balm is an herb in the mint family that enhances GABA neurotransmitter activity in the brain.
The compounds in lemon balm, including rosmarinic acid, have been found to help inhibit the enzyme that normally degrades GABA.14 This keeps GABA levels higher, to support a healthy stress response, anxiety relief, mood enhancement and improved sleep patterns.13
5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid precursor of serotonin with potential mood enhancing, anxiety relieving, sleep, and weight management (appetite suppression) benefits.
When 5-HTP was combined with GABA (which is the combination found in ProVanax), it helped promote a sense of "deeper relaxation and decreased anxiousness" in 67% of users.18
Another side-benefit of using 5-HTP is a reduction in cravings and appetite, which can lead to health weight management.15
St. John's Wort is a medicinal herb that has been used for centuries to treat feelings of "sadness, hopelessness and gloominess".41-44
At the correct dose and extract (found in ProVanax), Passion Flower will help give temporary anxiety relief and feelings of calmness and comfort.
However, when taken at very high dosages, it will give a "tranquilizing / sedative" effect, which you do not want.
Valerian is a perennial plant native to North America and Europe. The root is the portion of the plant used for medicinal effects.
Historically, Valerian's primary use was to promote relaxation and give relief of sleeplessness, anxiety, mental stress and conditions associated with occassional pain (both physical & emotional pain).21-24
Enhanced benefits are felt when Valerian is combined with Lemon Balm extract25 (which are both found in ProVanax).
Inositol is an unofficial member of the B vitamin group that functions as a primary component of cell membranes.
Although inositol has not been shown to be essential in the human diet, supplementation has shown to exert some very beneficial effects in cases of sadness, hopelessness, worry & feelings of panic.
L-theanine is an amino acid mostly found in tea leaves, used to help improve mood, lower stress, and to protect the brain and heart.26
[1] Helps promote healthy serotonin and dopamine levels, which can help support youthful memory and learning.
[2] Helps improve levels and effectiveness of GABA, the body’s main inhibitory neurotransmitter.
[3] Helps stimulate alpha brain wave activity, which can help cause mental relaxation, concentration, and deep REM sleep.27-30
Lithium is classified as an essential micro-nutrient, which means that all humans require it in small doses for good health.31
It's naturally present in various minerals, water, soil, fruits, vegetables, and other plants that are grown in lithium-rich soil. Sadly, it's now lacking in our nutrition due to how foods are grown these days. Which is unfortunate because low doses of lithium seem to make people more peaceful and friendly.
What's important to note is that the supplement form of Lithium "Orotate" is very different than the prescription form of Lithium "carbonate". The Orotate version in small amounts has been shown to be safe and beneficial for mental and emotional health.
GABA is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain, which means that it functions as the mind’s "brakes". It slows down and stops the firing of brain cells and brings the mind to a state of relaxation and calmness.32
Scientists believe that GABA might be the mind’s natural calming signal. It’s thought to help people get good sleep, relax, and wind down.
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that exist naturally in foods like yogurt and kimchi. They’re also available in pill or powder form.
Probiotics help improve digestive health, and they’re often used to treat diarrhea or bloating.
However, there are numerous health benefits with using Probiotics, in addition to gut health. Recent research has shown a direct and indirect benefit in enhancing your brain AND emotional health as well.
Numerous studies have revealed the huge potential of probiotics for improving mood, feelings of anxiousness and sadness .33-35
NOTE: Not all probiotics work the same and they all have different benefits.
However, the three most powerful and studied Probiotic strains that help with mood are:
Each ProVanax™ veggie capsule contains over 100+ BILLION of these 3 specific "mood promoting" probiotics (healthy bacteria).
Vitamins B6, B9, B12 and the mineral - Magnesium, are all essential in the production of brain neurotransmitters.
This becomes even more important during times of additional stress and as we age, especially if you're over the age of 35.
NOTE: B vitamins must be taken in the correct, absorbable form. For B6, it's pyridoxine HCl. For B9 (folate), it's L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate. For B12 it's methylcobalamin.
